Altwood Church of England School is a very successful, flourishing and growing secondary school based in Maidenhead.
Altwood draws pupils from across Maidenhead, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. It has a roll of 890 children (including the sixthform) together with a hundred dedicated and professional staff. It is oversubscribed on entry.
Altwood School was founded in 1907 by the merger of Boyn Hill Church of England Senior Girls School (1836–1907) and St Lukes Church of England Secondary Boys School (1836–1907).
We are an extremely successful, oversubscribed and happy co-educational Church of England Academy. Our senior school site is on the outskirts of Wargrave and our primary school site is in the village of Charvil.
The Piggott School was founded in 1799 and moved to its current site in 1939. Together with our primary site at Charvil, which opened in 2013, we are an all-through 4-18 years, mixed, comprehensive school.
The Piggott School has 1820 students and over 200 staff.

Shinfield St Marys Junior school is a popular and well-respected school and is known for their innovative work in Ecology and sustainability.
The original school, which is now the site of Shinfield infant school, was founded in 1707 by Richard Piggott. The current site was opened in 1968 but the school’s popularity led to another expansion in 2018; making the school a three-form entry setting.
This vibrant school community is made up with 360 students and 47 dedicated staff members.
